I feel like I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with parents... and have noticed something they all have in common. How "amazing" their child is. The other day at the grocery store, I overheard a gentleman telling the cashier that his child had the best handwriting of his class. It's just so funny what parents will brag about, and to whom they will brag about it too.
I am, however, beginning to feel a sense of this. Every time I go to work, I listen to the heartbeat of an unborn child. I've been rigorously trained to listen for all sorts of things, good and bad, that are associated with that lub-dub sound, and now... not one single one of those heartbeats are as amazing as the one I get to hear when I place the Doppler machine on my tummy. To me, it's the best noise I've ever heard and it creates this smile that comes from my soul onto my face and I can't help but smile ear to ear. I can't even focus on anything else, except the perfect lub-dub of our little Nugget.
Again... with the help of my fabulous friend Jeannine, I have captured that sound for you to hear. It begins quietly and as the little Nugget wiggles around in there and gets closer to the Doppler, you'll notice the sound get louder.
I recorded it on my digital camera using Windows Media Player, so that is all that the video is of... it was the only way I could get the file to play!
I hope it plays for you!
