More Sesame Street Live Photos

Mother shared the photos from her "legal" camera that we took in to the arena to see Sesame Street Live... so I thought I would share a few with you all!  Enjoy!

Callie got the VIP Photos with Elmo package with her ticket!  See how excited we are when we turned the corner and saw Elmo sitting at the end of the hallway!!!

Momma and her baby on the steps of Sesame Street!  I was TOTALLY one of the coolest Mommy's there!!  In my Elmo shirt AND flip flops!!!  Callie was proud of me ;)

It's so exciting for a baby to be on Sesame Street!!!  My mother compared Callie seeing Elmo to any teenage girl seeing Justin Bieber... I think she was totally right!

Mother remembered taking me to see Sesame Street Live for the first time when I was about 2 years old... And here she is again... to enjoy it with her Bitty Baby!

Oh my goodness y'all!!!!  It's "mo"!!!  My baby's dream come true!!!  She just MELTED in his lap!  I literally sat her down and her body went limp.  She didn't even try to move... it was so funny!

Momma, Elmo, Bitty, Bert and Da!

The same photo... with her Gee!!!

Callie's special pass allowed her to play in a hallway they had set up and called "the Street"... she had a blast!  This is Cookie Monster (surely everyone already knew that) and Callie's favorite thing to do is say, "Cook" and then laugh and say "Mav!!!" because apparently her cousin Mav likes Cookie Monster!

Not sure about this "Mo"... thank goodness for Gee!

Got our popcorn, soccer ball and seats for the show!

At intermission these balloons were for sale... so of course her NEEDED one!!

This is the BEST show of all time EVERYONE!!!

And even a pat on the head from the Count!  Callie also associates the Count with her cousin Mav... over Christmas he would say "two... ah, ah, ah" (come on... use your best Dracula voice and say it with me!)... and so now when we're counting... whenever we get to two... she laughs and says "Mav!!!"  It's adorable!  She LOVES her little cousin!

Playing with other kids at the intermission (or perhaps guarding her ball from the other kids)... I accidentally called the kid to the very far right of the screen a little girl (and who knew... it was a boy!  Come on people... you can't have a kids hair be that long and expect me to know it's a boy!)

The show!  We had great seats!!  Thanks to Gee!!

At the very end... much to our surprise... confetti and streamers were shot out into the audience... Callie got attacked by it!!!  She wasn't sure what to think about it!

It was truly a great show... (a little long at an hour and a half... to long for my little person)... and it was perfect timing... Callie had an absolute blast and I'm SO glad we went... Even Daddy (hesitant to go at first and nearly gave his seat up to my sister Alex) will admit that he was so happy get got to go and do this with our baby.

Hopefully that's the last of Elmo you'll have to endure until her birthday party!  Thanks for tolerating us!  It really was a very fun parenting experience!

That Furry Red Monster...

Oh yes... that furry red monster.  Most adults without a child under the age of 3 can't stand the character... I know, because I was one of them.  I SWORE I would NEVER let my child watch him.  Hahaha... Never say never as a parent... right?

He goes by Elmo, and Phillip and I can both sing, from memory, verbatim, his original Elmo's world song and the Elmo the musical lyrics... and yes, our sweet 21 month old is OBSESSED with her beloved "Mo".  We don't watch a lot of TV in our house, Elmo in the morning when she wakes up (she's not really a morning person), Barney (yes, the purple dinosaur) with her bedtime bottle (yeah... I still give my baby a bottle... so what? She drinks more milk in one bedtime bottle than she would consume in an entire week... and it's not a battle I'm willing to fight with my teeny tiny baby, go ahead, judge away ;) and of course, at her Gee's (this is the name she has given to Grams Urso) house, she gets to watch Winnie the Pooh.  So the presence of Elmo in our lives is fairly significant.  And, it turns out, for us, he's actually one of the least obnoxious child characters and is very educational.

So, her Gee, always looking out for her baby, purchased tickets the moment Sesame Street Live tickets went on sale in Wichita for her, Callie, myself and Phillip to enjoy.  And last Saturday... we certainly did enjoy the show!  My little "stranger danger" baby sat right in the arms of Elmo (though slightly in a daze) and had her photo taken.  Listening to her yell out the characters names that went by and hollering "Yayyyyyy!!!" when her Elmo finished a song or came by and patted her on the head just made every penny of those tickets SOOO worth it!  We had a great time... and poor bitty was so SOO exhausted that she didn't even wake up until 10 am the next morning!  Her partied too hard with "Mo"!

With all of that said... you understand now how much she loves her "Mo" and with that... I knew that I needed to do an Elmo photo shoot... here's our favorite:

What most of the outtakes looked like...

This is her 21 month photo... which means, in just 3 short months... my tiny baby will be 2!!!! I can't even believe it!  Time has certainly flown by!  But I've already nailed down a date and theme for her party!

The party with be on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 probably around noon.  And the theme will be Soccer Ball playing Elmo... her two favorites!

I do have more Sesame Street Live photos to share... they're just on my mothers camera... because mine was forbidden inside of the arena.  So I hope to share those soon!

Thanks for listening to my ranting... my baby should be getting up at any minute... so it's back to playing!  Love, kisses and Sneebie licks to y'all!

Perhaps it's simply nostalgia... or the events that occurred a year ago today... or maybe it's just the overwhelmingly powerful feeling of having my little one nestle into my arms craving to just be "rock-a-byed" to sleep as she did tonight that brings back these emotions and memories from just over a year ago today.

No one else would know who this character is... no one except me.  To everyone else... it's just another stuffed animal I tote along with Callie where ever she goes and ALWAYS place in her crib.  But it's someone I would like to introduce to everyone.

This is "Pop" the monkey.

Pop rests at the top of her bed, on her pillow, where she lays her head every night.  You see, Pop is, her guardian Angel.  Pop came to us in January 2012.  After Fred and Caroline's great adventure to Boston.  And tonight... as I picked her up from her bed, she reached for him.  So as I rocked the both of them... and she quickly drifted off to sleep... the sweet look on her face took me back to my baby, sound asleep on my Father's chest, tucked inside the Baby Bjorn, inside of his sub-zero weather jacket, after we had just trudged the two blocks or so of the snowy Dorchester streets and she met my Poppa.

Poppa met a sweet sleeping baby... too nestled and warm to wake up at the time... until her mother awoke her.  I remember him saying "she's beautiful..."... and then my sweet baby, who had disliked nearly every man at the time... went right to her Great Poppa.  She let him hug her and kiss her and as he held her in his arms... she looked at peace, comfortable.  She knew she was in the arms of someone who would love her and watch over her for the rest of time.

I have only memories and one picture from that visit... which is why... just as we were walking to our gate at the airport to depart Boston, Pop jumped out at Callie.  She repeatedly made the sound of a monkey until I went over to where he (and many of his friends :) were... and it was there... my 10 month old baby plucked up Pop.  He's been with us ever since... and will remain with Callie forever.

February 5 marked one year since Poppa went to be with our heavenly Father, and to be honest... it wasn't until tonight that it truly hit me.  So I rocked my baby a little too long... and I snuggled her close... remembering our adventure together.  My mother spent the day in Salina today... just as she did a little over a year ago when I told her I was going to Boston and made her promise not to tell anyone... so she, against everything inside of her, helped me pack a single bag for my baby and me.  She could only tell me not to go... to keep the peace... knowing full well that her rebel daughter (my other sister's, in a 3 way phone call, had also encouraged me to go) wouldn't be satisfied until my baby was in her Great Poppa's arms.  I will cherish those memories, forever.  Callie gave me the strength to do what I did... I know someday she will be grateful... and proud.
I can only begin to imagine the adventures that lie ahead for my Sweet Caroline and I... and one thing is for certain... Pop will be right along with us.

My baby, January 2012, what she would have looked like when she met her Great Poppa Urso...
and then January 2013... it's amazing how much she has changed!

Miss Missy...

Great Poppa U... watching over us all... :)
