The Hiccupping Nugget...

Possibly one of the greatest job perks of all time is that during my lunch break, should I choose to, I can grab the ultrasound (sonogram) machine... and capture a glimpse of our little nugget.  Wednesday night, an eerily slow night at work, I did just this.  With the help of Crystal, Jeannine (and her iPhone 3G capabilities) and Dr. Gustafson we captured the little nugget on film hiccupping.

Hiccupping in-utero is a sign of an intact Central Nervous System, caused from swallowing the amniotic fluid, basically saying that things are working just as they should be, so having a hiccupping nugget is exactly what we want.

Words cannot express the amazement I felt seeing this little thing, Phillip and I's little thing, doing something so human.  I sent some of you this as a text message, but for those of you who did not receive it, here is quite possibly one of the most incredible videos in my book. :)

Enjoy!

  1. I LOVED this via text! That little thing is growing rapidly! Looks so much more human than the previous images. How fun!
