Meet the Crew!

I've decided to introduce you to the crew that will be responsible for bringing baby Van Court into the world.  I've already thrown around a few of their names in previous posts, but this way you will have a face to put with the name.

Phillip: will play the role of "Daddy", responsible for working hard at Scoular and making lots of money so Kristin: "mommy" can purchase all of the items that the little nugget will *need*. :)

Sneebie: will play the role of "big brother" and test dummy for all of the nuggets new things.

Dr. Kurt Kauffman: the Man in charge of the Delivery.  Graduated from University of Kansas for Undergrad, Medical School, and Residency.  Has been practicing in Wichita for the past 10 years.  Is excellent in his field.  He also has a policy of being "on-call" for his own patients, so I will not have to be concerned about having another physician I don't know there for the big event.

Dr. Ellen Hopper: will be assisting Dr. Kauffman with the delivery.  She is a 4th year Senior OB/GYN Resident working at Wesley Medical Center.  Over the past 4 years I have gotten to know her well and she is an excellent physician.  She may have been one of the first people to call me out on the fact that Phillip and I were not "just friends".  I suppose she was more right than ever :).  She has also agreed to be "on-call" for the delivery of baby Van Court.

Crystal Ivey, RN, BSN: will be the Primary Registered Nurse, High Risk Labor and Delivery Staff Nurse that will be caring for Kristin, the Nugget, and probably Phillip throughout the process.  Crystal graduated from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas and started working at Wesley Medical Center at the exact same time Kristin did.  Crystal is excellent in her field and a very close friend of Kristin's.  She has agreed to be "on-call" for the next 6 months at any time day or night for the delivery of baby Van Court.

Jeannine Dean, RN: and yes she is married to Jimmy Dean (though he prefers to go by James... hehehe...).  She is also a Registered Nurse, High Risk Labor and Delivery Staff Nurse that graduated from Butler County Community College.  Jeannine has worked at Wesley for 7 years.  She is a great friend and excellent nurse.  She will receive baby Van Court after the nugget is born and perform any necessary testing (Apgar and Ballard Scoring).  Should baby Van Court need any type of resuscitation, she will also be in charge of this.  The running joke is that she will also act as my "Doula" while I'm in labor.

So there you have it... The Crew.  It's incredible the amount of people it takes to have a baby these days, and I feel absolutely confident in each of the individuals I have chosen.  I feel lucky and completely blessed to have the opportunity and the access to the best Health care in the mid-West.

  1. Is Jeannine the blonde on the right or the one on the left?
