Right on the Money!

Just as the 10 year seasoned Scoular employee had guessed... Salina saw their first truck loads of wheat yesterday.  Perhaps Phillip should have been a betting man!  Yesterday he only saw 2 different farmers cutting wheat, but expects to dump about 60 semi-trucks filled with wheat today.  Yes, harvest has hit Salina.

In the meantime... Callie and I have been spending most of this past week with Gee, Gamps (Grampa Jim) and the Boston Urso clan.  I can't believe it's been 4 years (our wedding) since we've gotten to see and hang out with them!  It was a fun weekend and week, (Callie even finally warmed up to the boys!) spent partly at the Derby house, and the other part at the lake house.  We sure missed having Daddy around, but I think he liked being able to come home to a quiet house to help charge up for the big harvest!

Here's the photos... along with the captions, of course, of our super fun week!

So these are SUPER old!!!  From Alex's high school graduation... but I just stole a bunch of photos from my mother's camera and thought I should share them!!  (sounds like some sort of copyright issue... it's ok, my mother doesn't mind!)

The OSU recruiting team... looks like they got a good one!  Al agrees that the boys look good in orange! (Al- do they make this shirt in a onesie? ;)

Classic Urso girls pose... Al was trying to get Callie to stand in front of her... but Callie was obsessed with the candy mints!!  The girl loves minty flavoring!

A rare Mommy and Callie photo... I look awful... because I had just gotten sick :(  While I'm grateful to only be getting sick a couple of times a week... it nearly always seems to happen after a drive!  And neither of my nausea medications will cure it... oh well... looks like I know what I'll be talking to Dr. Graber about at the next appointment!

A gift to all of us from the Boston family... Boston strong t-shirts... and yes, Callie does have on a Bruins jersey!  They're playing for the Stanley cup after all!

Watching (one of the) Stanley cup games... it's kind of funny... I think Phillip wasn't exactly certain who to root for... obviously the Bruins by marriage... but they're playing the Chicago Blackhawks who he cheered for in college!  Notice everyone's intensity!

Matching water lake shoes with Gamps!  Callie is pretty certain she's TOTALLY awesome when she's matching her Gamps.  (Thanks Camille Graber for the hand-me-downs!)

Taking Gamps' pontoon boat out for a spin on a perfectly smooth lake.  It's amazing how not busy the lake is during the week... it's truly relaxing!

Love, love, love this photo... When Bitty isn't on Gamps' lap driving the boat... she's holding hands with her Gee (or napping in Gee's arms!).

And her FINALLY got to go fishing with Gamps... something she'd talked about for weeks!  He caught the fish... and she was so interested!!  She wanted to hold and pet him!

Auntie Pup showing Callie the proper way to hold the fishy... Callie LOVED it!

And since Mommy is banned from riding Jet Ski's (any chance that ban could be lifted Dr. Graber? ;) Callie was in heaven to have Auntie Pup (now referred to as Auntie Buck <-- we all die laughing when we hear Callie yelling this at Stef) drive her around the lake on the jet ski.

And what else is a great Poppa good for than spoiling his great-granddaughter?!?  Oh Poppa... living up to the legacy of giving me ice cream at 6 months old... Here he is sneaking Callie some gum drops before dinner... no wonder her loves her Poppa so much! (Notice the nicely stacked plates behind them... yes, we were waiting for dinner!)

Ok... ok... that's a lot of photos for one blogpost... perhaps in the next couple of days I'll post some of the many video's I've taken over the last few months.  Until then... I think the saying goes "Happy Harvest!!" (I still don't understand this!  It's such a stressful time of year for so many... I suppose if it's happy, then the crops yield well and everyone ends up making money!)

Love, kisses, licks and kicks (from a very active little boy Van Court!)
