The wheat has mostly turned, there's only a little bit of green left in the fields... which only means one thing for me... Harvest is right around the corner. Phillip said that the elevator in Wellington will probably start taking in wheat this weekend (most likely from northern Oklahoma farmers)... and he predicts, with our warm dry weather, that it will begin here in Salina around the 20th. So what are we doing while "harvest looms"? We're having as much fun as we can with "Da" until Callie and I become widows for nearly a month.
Here's what we've been up to the last couple of weekends!
So I have done what probably most 2nd time moms have done... and not kept up with the "belly shots" like I did so well with Callie. But, with some recent requests, I've decided that I will try to keep up on them... with my helper, of course. So here the little man, Callie and myself are at 17 weeks pregnant! That means only 23 to go... almost halfway!
(this was taken last Sunday, June 9... that's when I "change" weeks)
This may have been one of the most brilliant gifts of all time!!! An Easel!!! Callie LOVES it!! She has a white board she can use markers on, a chalkboard, and can paint! Crayola certainly has figured out a way to a Mother's heart, because EVERYTHING is VERY washable! The paint wipes off her skin with a damp washcloth and so do the dry erase markers... it's great!
The first weekend of June was spent partly at the golf course, practicing her putting skills :) and partly in the backyard making S'mores with Da!!! It was so fun!
Callie is NOT a "pyromaniac" she had NO interest in being too close to that "Oooooo Hott!!" flame!
Last weekend was absolutely beautiful... and for the first time, Da got to join Callie and I at the Country Club pool. We love it, because it's rarely very busy (a new public water park was built 2 years ago... so I think that's why it's not very busy). Callie is such a fish!!!
And the Sweets sure isn't a scaredy cat!! Not when she can jump right in to Daddy's arms! She loves it!
And last night we celebrated Phillip turning 33... when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday... he said "a beer cake"... thanks to Pinterest... this is what I came up with!! Needless to say, he was pleasantly surprised! I think this should last him through harvest!
And our very good friends Seth, Tina and Alex Post came to celebrate too... Tina, the very good baker, even baked Phillip his favorite Texas Sheet Cake!! (I've tried 5 years in a row... and it's been a fail every year...)
This photo cracks me up... because Callie, who still doesn't care for men... is eyeballing Seth while we sing!
So happy to have friends to celebrate his Batman 33rd birthday!! Callie LOVED the theme... and even sang her "na na na na na na na na BATMAN!"
This time it was Bitty's turn to help Da blow out his candles...
And our two little munchkins... they are just too adorable!! We LOVE playing with our friend baby Alex!
This weekend includes spending time with the Boston family in Derby... we're so excited to see and hang out with them, and, of course... a Wheat photo shoot!!! Keep your eye out for those photos to come!
Kisses, Licks... and sweet baby kicks from all of us here in Salina!

Cute pictures, thanks Kristin! Funny thing with his shirt on Phil looks so tan but with his shirt off he looks so pale, farmers tan.
ReplyDeleteHaha... poor Phillip has said, the one bad thing about being able to tan so well, is that you go out golfing once, and you automatically have a terrible farmers tan! Oh well... that's the nice part of the country club pool... there's rarely anyone there, so there's not much to be self conscience about!
