This title of this blogpost is true for both my 18 month old baby... and our family!!! These first couple of weeks of October have been very busy!! We had the garage sale and then the KU and KState football game, followed by me working for an entire weekend (it seems as though we will never deliver all of the pregnant ladies of Wichita!), then a very fun messy arts class followed by our first gymnastics class! Whew... I'm exhausted just thinking about all of it again! So when Phillip (the introvert homebody) proposed going to Kansas City this weekend, me... the extrovert adventurer... turned it down. I just wanted a weekend at home, and to go to the pumpkin patch (we still haven't been yet... it was a very rainy Saturday! But hopefully we'll get out there tomorrow).
So... instead of attempting to catch everyone up on our very crazy lives... I think I'll let photos (with a few captions, of course!) tell the story instead (photos are always more fun!).
At the Garage Sale, our family friend Zach Helms and his family stopped by. Their son Jacob is just 2 weeks younger than Callie... but he's much bigger and definitely a boy! Callie and Jacob had a blast playing in the garage sale things... and running around the pillar of my parents 3rd car garage... this was a perfect shot of them really enjoying one another!
We had lots of fun visitors, a couple of my high school friends came by, and even Grandmother Barbara and Aunt Denise braved the chilly weather to say hi! It was so great to see everyone!
Little Miss Cheeseball... and her new face. When I ask her to smile... this is what I get now... She's such a bug!!!
Her loves taking a bath in her Grams' bathtub... lots of toys (mostly Mommy's old toys...) and plenty of room to swim, splash and to make most of Gramps' things a little damp :)
You also might notice that she's still missing that canine tooth. She's working hard on it though!! The gums are so swollen and if she bites down on anything in that spot, you can just tell it really hurts her! The pediatrician said that after those incisor (canine) teeth come through... we're done teething until her 2 year molars come in! (WOOOOOO - HOOOO!)
Little Miss Missy and her friend Camille... at their first Gymnastics class! It's a mommy and me class... and we had so much fun! We're definitely looking forward to the rest of the classes! Callie certainly has gymnastics in her blood... her Grampa Meyer was a Varsity Gymnast in high school (until he broke both arms... eek! But he then became an amazing diver!) and her Auntie Dani did gymnastics at a competitive level through elementary school. The leotard Callie is wearing is the same one her Auntie Stef wore when she was 2. It fit Callie perfectly and was just darling on her!
This isn't the greatest photo of the two of them... but capturing two (almost) 2 year olds on a very bouncy flooring is nearly impossible! Camille's suit is just adorable too!
My tiny gymnast in her "leo-nard" (as my sister's used to call it!)... posing in her dismount pose. Ugh... she's SOOO cute!
A playdate with sweet baby Alex Post (daughter of Seth Post, Phillip's roommate and groomsman in our wedding). I just love getting together with Tina, we get to talk about fashion (she has introduced me to fleece lined leggings!!! I'm so excited about them for winter!), our babies of course, a little bit about grain... just because we have to :) and she's a wonderful baker... she's always baking up something delicious for our playdates! This time it was Texas sheet cake (Phillip's favorite!)
So it was nearly impossible getting both of these two to look at the camera too... So this was my best one.. I had to wake Callie up from her nap when the Post's arrived... and it certainly was a good nap... look at her hair!
And this was today. On most Saturday mornings that we spend at home... Phillip makes 'eggies' for himself and his baby girl. This morning he let her help... a little (mother I can already hear you yelling at me about how close she is to the stove... we were careful... I promise!).
Also... if you're wondering if the time on the microwave is correct... it most certainly is... 10:45 was our breakfast time! Callie didn't wake up until 10:00 this morning! Lazy baby (it's ok... I LOVE it!).
So that's what's been going on here in Salina... It may not be super exciting to you all... but it's just fabulous for us! We're so blessed... and loving every minute of it!
PS... Grammie and Grandfather Faith... don't worry... we haven't forgotten about looking up all of the addresses here in Salina that you gave us. We're still busy collecting photos :) It will be worth the wait for that post... We promise! Love and Kisses!
